decided to listen out of calendar for this one. it's the january slump...
I cant comment reliably on the mix (speaker quality) but it seems crisp.
... />strong start up to loser. next ones are plain.
jerry's solos and the devils' rhythms are right on schedule for a while, but not so inspired.
keith gets out of step and frustrated, disturbing a dull row jimmy.
He figures out the two-time by scar-fi, however, and jerry jams with. Donna's key in this! She cools down the tightly wound team on 1977's hottest night yet.
Then, for the rest of the show, every.single.song. is worth hearing.
three stars for the rough start and to correct for my personal bias towards the setlist.

This is perhaps the most underrated show from the spring of 1977 which is sad because it should be mentioned in the same company as the more famous later

dates in early May. Fact of the matter is I would put this show up against 5-7, 5-8, and 5-9, its that good. It starts with a good Sugaree and quickly gathers steam from there. The first set ends with a very good Scarlet>Fire. Everybody is on during this show, Donna sounds good, Keith plays some organ, Jerry puts extra hot sauce on many of his solos, Bob, holds down the rhythm, and Phil, Mickey, and Bill are a force of nature. The Bertha in the second set is one of my favorite versions of this song. This show has an embarassment of riches, I know, you've heard it before, even the worst shows have glowing reviews, but ignoring this show is to your detrement. This is a nice sounding audience recording, a very enjoyable listen. Download and crank it up. Thanks to those who brought this gem forward. The show gets 6 stars, its a VG+ audience recording so thats why I gave it 4 stars

With so few spring '77 audience tapes to choose from, this recording is well made and very listenable. Jerry Moore's work is well above average and done
...
at a time when most audience tapes were crappy. Hats of to Jerry Moore for being in the right place at the right time!

Eeks! Before raving about the matrix mix of this show (and since I can't edit my post about it), I should have known from my other Moore audience recordings

to listen first to this one. Thanks to Mssrs. Moore & Co., I am now at work - and yet - AND YET - perfectly positioned right in the middle of this positively electric Spring '77 miracle! Thank you!

Based on DL numbers it would appear fewer are choosing this audience source. I found that although there is a bit of distortion and reverb, this source
...
has more range, power, and Phil.

In this new, horrendous era of no SBD's, we can only hope that that the audience tapes sound as good as this show. good sets, crisp playing. and all this
